Description
The classic Vintage-Industrial-style round table – constructed from a circular all-wooden pattern, pulled from an old factory mill, used during the turn-of-the-century in the mold-making process, for the production of large industrial gears. The coffee table comes with a tinted glass table top, which measures 42″ in diameter. Table measures 50″ in diameter and is 18 1/2″ tall. Historical relevance – these molds were used with raw, American mined materials, steel, iron, and/or a mix of other strong metals. The molten was poured into the mold, for “molded or molding”, then allowed to cool before the cleaning/finishing process. This included grinding, sanding, polishing, until the product/or gear could be considered complete. These large industrial size gears were used in a variety of heavy industries. Used in order to power large machines used in manufacturing, transportation, mining, drilling, shipping. Anything that required a large amount of power to be mechanized, moved or generated.
